Mexican elections

They say the PRI party will return to power after this election. Will this change anything in Mexico? My heart is hopeful but my mind shouts No! Although there are examples of countries overcoming the drug cartels such as Columbia it doesn't appear to be a possibility for our neighbors to the south. Maybe it's the culture or just the geography of sharing a border with the largest consumer of illicit drugs in the world. Mexico gives all indications of being locked into the status quo with no end in sight. Most Americans will live out their lives without ever having the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the land and or the chance to enjoy the company of a proud populace. What a shame.
